Headaches, Vertigo & Concussion

Bid farewell to discomfort with Physio Bunker’s specialized treatments for headaches, vertigo, and concussion. Our experienced physiotherapists provide personalized care to improve your quality of life.

Do you suffer from chronic headaches? Have you had vertigo for as long as you can remember? If so, you should consider seeking treatment from a Physiotherapist to see if your symptoms can be alleviated. There are many instances where headaches and vertigo are treatable, but people just aren’t aware of this.

There are several different types of headaches, but they all have one thing in common – they are horrible! If you suffer from regular headaches and have just accepted that they are a part of your everyday life, the good news is you don’t have to. In many cases, headaches are a treatable symptom of a larger scale issue. So book an appointment with one of our Physiotherapists and they will assess your situation and let you know if your headaches are treatable.

Similarly, vertigo in most cases can be improved with Physiotherapy. Vertigo is usually caused by an imbalance of the fluid in the inner ear. The fluid contains tiny crystals, and when they are not equally distributed on both sides, it can cause vertigo. There are specific exercises or movements that a Physiotherapist will do in order to reset the crystals in your ears, and they will then show you how to do these movements yourself. We very often hear our clients say they wish they had had treatment long before they did. If you have symptoms of vertigo, book in to see one of our Physiotherapists and we will determine if it is vertigo via a series of tests, then determine the best course of action for your specific situation.

Concussion is a very serious condition. Most often it occurs in contact sports, however it can also happen in everyday life and non-contact sports. The are many symptoms of concussion, these may include:

If you are concerned about having a concussion and you need to return to sport, you need to be managed the right way in order to safely return to sport. There are very specific guidelines for concussion management and these are there to protect you from sustaining more serious injury on your return to sport.

The Physio Bunker also does concussion baseline testing. This involves testing you using a specific concussion testing protocol prior to you commencing your sports season. Then, if you sustain a concussion injury, we will use your baseline score to guide us and help determine when you have returned to your pre-concussion state. We do this for individuals and for whole sports teams.

If you or your sports team require treatment or baseline testing for concussion, get in touch with us today to chat about organising this. Email info@thephysiobunker.com.au and we will work with you and your requirements.

If you are private paying (i.e. paying for our services yourself or with your Private Health Fund) or covered by Work Cover, NDIS or a Home Care Package you DO NOT need a referral. If you are a DVA or Medicare patient, you will need a referral or EPC referral from a GP.

    • Do you have HICAPs?

We sure do! Bring your private health insurance card with you and you can claim on the spot with our HICAPs machine. This means that you will only need to pay the gap at the time of your appointment.

    • What happens in the first appointment?

Your initial appointment will involve a lengthy discussion about your concerns. Your therapist will then need to get some more information about your condition by performing some objective tests and getting some baseline measures. This enables for an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan to be formed. If time permits, you will start your treatment as well in the first session!

    • Do I need to bring anything?

If you have had any scans or reports done in relation to your condition, it is really helpful if you can bring them with you.You should also bring or wear comfortable, loose clothing that allows access to the area of your body needing assessment and treatment.
